ENDURO SERIES CAR SPECIFICATIONS

  • 4. All cars must be equipped with an approved fuel shut off  located in the trunk.Your fuel shut off must be marked off and on.

  • 7. OEM or factory replacement shocks must be in original locations and positions with a retail dollar amount of $40.00 or less. Urethane sway bar bushings are allowed in the link end only,  Maximum sway bar Diameter  1  1/16 inches.

1. Stock off the street passenger car (no station wagons, or convertibles) as purchased from the factory with no modifications or alterations except as specifically allowed below. Sedans (cars with door posts) are strongly recommended. Wheelbase of cars must not be less than 110 inches (no Dusters, Camaros, etc.). 108 inch full frame cars also allowed. Note-no modifications or alterations means at least the following; no cutting of anything including dashboards, wheelwells, no bracing-no reinforcing of headlight and taillight holes or any other body holes. Maximum of 18 gauge metal may be used for body repair, no welded metal plates allowed. Door may be welded shut between door and rear quarter panel only, with maximum bead of 8 inches. Door plate may be fastened with bolts or by welding. Maximum welding of 12 inches on the front of door plate and 12 inches on the back. Top and bottom may be skip welded, the sum of all beads on top and bottom not to exceed 16 inches, (I.E. 8-2 inch welds). Door plate rule grandfathered for 1998, MANDATORY for 1999. Door plate may not be braced to frame.

2. The engine must be completely stock mass produced for street use. Engines can be Ford to Ford, GM to GM, Chry to Chry only. The intake and exhaust manifolds and the heads must be Stock OEM cast iron, no aluminum, super duty, made for racing, etc. No modifications to the intake or exhaust manifolds, or heads. No Corvette centerdumps. No EFI. No electric fuel pumps. Flat tappet hydraulic lifter cam shafts only. Maximum valve lift measured at valve with zero lash= .420 for small block GM; .460 for big block GM and non GM. Any factory production automatic transmissions as long as Ford to Ford, GM to GM, etc. No remote transmission coolers. Stock floor or column, single lever shift only.

3. The carburetor must be original equipment (OEM) manufacture for the type of engine used only. No special order, optional equipment or other high performance carbs. No Holly carbs. No "truck" carbs. The choke plate and choke hardware cannot be removed. Original, stock, air cleaner in stock position only- no lid flipping. No cold air duct systems. Do not run fuel line through interior of car. Fan Shroud required.

4. The stock gas tank MUST be removed and replaced with one steel Gl or outboard gas tank or other approved steel, thick walled gas tank, 8 gal. maximum, securely mounted with steel straps, rods or bars in the trunk, near the front so to be protected from rear end collisions. It must also be on or above the trunk floor. The tank must be sealed within the trunk. No plastic tanks. Must open trunk to refuel, no quick fill doors. All cars must be equipped with an approved fuel shut off valve located in the trunk. The fuel shut off must be marked foo and on.

5. The cloth interior of the car may be removed (but not any metal). A 2 or 4 point properly installed roll cage may be used. An aircraft type seat belt and safety harness is optional with 3 inch minimum straps. Flame retardant suit is strongly recommended. At a minimum, long sleeved cotton shirt and pants, factory seat belt, safe helmet and eye protection and gloves are required at tech inspection. Doors must be chained or welded shut. Driver's door plate (maximum 1/4' thick with smooth edges) is allowed. Remove side and rear windows. Front glass windshield (no plastic) must be intact, minor cracks may be taped. Remove headlights, turnlights, tail lights and chrome outer trim. Remove all loose debris or glass before coming to track--all cars must be swept clean. Any holes or weak spots in floor must be covered with sheet metal. Back seat must be removed, and all holes must be covered with metal. All holes in rear deck must be covered with metal. Do not use aluminum. Plastic inner fenders must be removed. Window net required.

6. All cars with tubular shock type bumper brackets must secure the bumper to the frame by attaching (welding or bolts) chains or straps to them so they won't fall off. Bumpers may be chained in two places with 1/4" rod chain going around outside of bumper so bumper will not fall off. No cutoff bumper ends. All cars with a dragging bumper must pit immediately. Bumper straps allowed going from the bumper to the fender, maximum 6 inch width, 12 inch length, 1/8 inch thick. Must have secure bumper to enter the track.

7. All suspension components must remain strictly stock for the make, model and year of your car. NO MODIFICATIONS. NONE!! Suspension system must remain the way it came from the factory, completely and strictly stock. No special order, handling or towing packages (this includes larger sway bars and springs). No cargo coils or aftermarket springs. Springs must be stock for subject car. OEM or factory replacement shocks must be in origional locations and positions with a retail dollar amount of $40.00 or less. Urethane sway bar bushings are allowed in the link end only. Maximum sway bar diamater of 1 1/16 inches.

8. No antifreeze. All cars should have horn and wipers in working order. $50.00 fine and 50 lap penalty for anti-freeze.

9. Mufflers are not required but exhaust pipe must extend back past the driver and exit out from underneath car to side or rear. Battery must be in engine compartment and securely mounted. Hoods must be secured with 2 hood pins maximum length 8 inches. No wires and No bungees. Trunk springs MUST be removed.

10. Tires must be 75 or 78 series passenger car WHITE WALL radial only. 5 lap penalty per tire If Illegal. White walls must be clearly visible. ( No black paint over White Wall). Tire tread face width of 8" maximum. No racing, cheater or other than air filled tires. Maximum 7" wheel width. Stock factory steel wheels required, no mags, racing wheels, etc.; however, a steel racing wheel may be used on the right front. Racing wheel offset allowed of not less than 3 inches.

11. One inch lug nuts are required on right front. 5 lug nuts are required on all wheels. Same size (diameter) Tires as came with the car (all 14" or all 15"). No truck tires. No locked or posi rear ends including alterations to make rear end lock at anytime. All cars with a flat tire or lost wheel must pit immediately. No trailer hitches.

12. All roll bars cannot extend in front of the gas pedal or rear of the rear axle. Side door panels or metal cannot be cut out to make bars fit. Door plates are recommended on drivers door and allowed on both doors. Plate must be no more than 12" high, 1/4" thick metal and cannot extend past the forward most portion of the rear wheel well opening and the rearward most portion of the front wheel well opening. Plate may be more than one piece but must contour car and securely mounted to the door and fender only. Plate cannot be braced to the frame.

13. Stock Means- the way it came from the factory with no modifications of any kind unless specifically allowed by the rules or officials decision. Stock includes stock replacement parts as long as they are of factory specifications, including the same size, diameter, thickness, weight, and all other measurements, dimensions, composition, performance and characteristics, etc. This means no off road, high performance, Super duty, or special order equipment. Repairs that want to be made but would violate the rules, must be brought to the attention of the officials for prior approval of repair. (i.e. Welding a Control Arm, etc.)
